Legal (draft)
Terms of service
The ground rules for using Fiscalane. Written in plain language; a lawyer has not reviewed it yet.
Who offers the service
Fiscalane is offered by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME], [postal address], [country] ("we"). It is offered to businesses, freelancers and professionals. By using it you confirm that you are at least 18, that you act in the course of a trade or profession, and that you may bind the business you register.
The service
Fiscalane lets you create invoices in English, Arabic or both, check them against a documented subset of the EN 16931 and PEPPOL BIS Billing 3.0 rules, export them as PDF and, on the Pro plan, as UBL XML files, and run a readiness check of your invoice data against Fiscalane's own interpretation of Qatar's draft e-invoicing requirements.
What Fiscalane is not
- Fiscalane is not a Peppol access point and does not send documents over the Peppol network. It is not a gateway to any tax authority.
- The compliance check is not the official validator and is not a certification. A recipient, access point or tax authority may reject a file that passes it.
- Qatar's e-invoicing law was approved as a draft by the Cabinet on 6 May 2026 and no technical specification has been published. The readiness checker applies our own working assumptions, which will change. A "ready" result does not mean your data will be accepted by the General Tax Authority or any other body.
- Fiscalane does not give legal or tax advice and does not decide which tax category, rate or exemption applies to your invoice.
- Arabic labels in the interface and on documents were produced with machine assistance and have not yet been reviewed by a native speaker or an accountant. Check Arabic wording before you send an invoice; the English version is the reference.
Your responsibility for invoices
You are the issuer of your invoices. You remain responsible for their content, numbering, tax treatment, submission and the record-keeping your law requires. Fiscalane's archive record is a technical integrity check that shows whether an invoice changed after you issued it; it is not a statutory archive, a qualified timestamp or proof of legal validity. Check every invoice before you send it.
Accounts
You can use the editor and the readiness checker without an account. To save invoices and clients you need an account. Keep your sign-in details secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
Plans and billing
- The Free plan currently allows up to 5 stored invoices and 5 clients. Prices and limits may change; a change does not affect a period you have already paid for.
- The Pro plan is a subscription that renews automatically each month or year at the price shown at checkout. Dodo Payments is our online reseller and the merchant of record: it is the seller for the payment, collects tax, issues receipts, and its terms govern the purchase.
- You cancel through the Dodo Payments customer portal, which you reach from the billing page. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro features stay available until the end of the period you already paid for. Fiscalane changes your plan when Dodo Payments tells it the subscription status changed, which can take a few minutes.
- Refunds: [policy to be decided]. Until then, the refund terms shown by Dodo Payments at checkout apply. If a payment fails, your access follows the subscription status reported by Dodo Payments [failed-payment policy to be confirmed].
- "Unlimited" on the Pro plan means no fixed count. We may apply fair-use limits to protect the service and will tell you before we do.
Acceptable use
- Do not use Fiscalane to issue invoices for transactions that do not exist, to commit fraud or evade tax, or to infringe other people's rights.
- Do not scrape the service, reverse engineer the validation rules, bypass plan limits, or disrupt the service or other users.
- Only enter data you have the right to process. Do not use the service in breach of applicable sanctions or export-control laws.
Your content
You keep ownership of the invoice data you enter and of the files you export. You give us permission to process it to provide the service as described in the privacy policy. You confirm that you have the right to enter any third-party personal data, such as your customers' details. For that data you are the controller and we act on your instructions as processor; a data-processing agreement is available on request [to be prepared].
Our rights
Fiscalane's software, rule tables, templates and brand belong to us. We give you a limited, revocable right to use the service under these terms. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.
Availability and changes
The service is provided as available, with no uptime commitment, and may change, including beta features. We may withdraw or replace a feature, for example the readiness checker once an official specification exists, and we have no obligation to keep the Free plan. Exports are generated from the data you provide.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Fiscalane and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, fail to pay, abuse the service, or if the law requires it. On closing, your data is deleted as described in the privacy policy; export what you need first.
Changes to these terms
We will tell you about material changes by email or in the product at least [14 / 30] days before they apply. If you continue to use the service after that, you accept the change; if you do not agree, you can close your account before it applies.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss such as lost profit, tax penalties, or invoices rejected by a recipient or authority, and our total liability is limited to [the fees you paid in the previous 12 months; a nominal amount for the Free plan] [to be finalised by a lawyer]. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury, intent or gross negligence.
Governing law and disputes
[Governing law and courts or arbitration to be chosen after the operator's jurisdiction and entity are settled.]
General
If a provision is unenforceable the rest stays in force. These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If we translate these terms into Arabic, the English text is the reference [subject to legal advice].
